I planted two kinds of onions in the garden today
Onions (White Ebenezer)
Onions (Yellow Stuuttgarter)
I like to grow a lot of onions, most of them I freeze dry and vacuum seal in jars and use for what ever I need onions for, I also make the best onion power that I have ever tasted, it is better than any store bought. to make the onion powder I freeze dry the skins, roots and the actual onions when they are done I grind them into powder, and then sift them through a mesh strainer and then they are ready for use, I like to add 1 tsp. of corn starch to the powder, it keeps it from clumping. The skins are what gives it the great flavor, and that's where a lot of the nutrients are, so why not get the most out of them that you can? At first I was skeptical about using the skins and roots but after tasting its amazing flavor I won't prepare it any other way now.
